Frequently asked questions

At YEGPlasticSurgery, we understand that each person is unique, with their own desires and concerns. We value the importance of addressing these individual needs and ensuring our patients feel comfortable and well-informed. To help you gain a better understanding of our procedures and services, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions below.

Preoperative

  • In general, patients who are at a happy stable weight and do not use any nicotine products will have the best aesthetic outcomes, with the lowest risk of complications.

  • Reconstructive procedures require referral letters from another physician. An aesthetic consultation does not require a referral letter and appointments can be booked through the office here.

  • Dr. Wolfli mainly operates at the Grey Nuns Hospital and the Meadowlark Surgical Centre.

  • Dr. Wolfli prefers all initial consults to be in-person. Often secondary consults and some follow-ups can be arranged virtually.

Postoperative

  • Alberta Health will cover reconstructive and functional procedures. Purely aesthetic procedures are not covered, and therefore surgical fees must be paid for by the patient.

  • There are many companies that provide financing for selective surgery. Dr. Wolfli’s office can provide you with contact information to one of these firms. Please inquire with us for more information.

  • The recovery process for each procedure can vary depending on various factors, including the type and extent of the surgery. Our surgeon will provide you with detailed post-operative instructions to help you through the recovery period. Generally, you can expect a recovery period ranging from a few weeks to months, depending on the procedure. Our team will closely monitor your progress and provide support throughout the healing process.

  • The time it takes to see the final results can vary depending on the procedure. While some improvements may be immediately noticeable, it is important to understand that complete healing and final results can take several weeks or even months. Our team will guide you through the expected timeline for your specific procedure, ensuring you have realistic expectations.

  • The amount of time needed to take off work will vary depending on the procedure and the nature of your work responsibilities. Our surgeon will provide you with an estimate of the recommended downtime during your consultation. It is important to plan ahead and allow yourself enough time to heal properly for the best possible outcome
